I work for a Social Care Charity based in the North West and we are currently reviewing our retention schedule, which was drawn up by a barrister around four years ago. Annually we review to see whether any major changes have taken place around the legislation stated on our retention schedule.
The barrister who drew up the retention schedule left the organisation some years ago and we are now questioning why certain documents have such long or some case such short retention periods. We have looked online for information but have found it difficult to locate all the information we need and do not have the time or expertise to trawl through the actual legislation.
Does anyone on this list know where there is a definitive list or detailed information on legislation and retention schedules? Alternatively does anyone have experience of putting together a retention schedule or completing comprehensive reviews who would be willing to pass on any information or advice?
I know that seems a broad area/question but any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
