Hi folks,
I'm cross-posting to several lists, so apologies if you get this a few times.
This is a question only for PubMed and PubMed Central users who also use Internet Explorer 7:
As we know, IE7 has not been supported by the producers of PubMed since the end of 2012, but it has still worked to a great extent.
Now it appears not to be possible to carry out any PubMed searches using IE7. I've seen various online news items in the last few weeks from academic and hospital libraries drawing attention to the fact that the latest developments of NCBI resources are no longer compatible with IE7 (and some versions of Citrix, apparently).
Most of our Trust is still stuck on IE7, with little hope of being able to change to anything else in the near future, and are getting very frustrated. Presumably we are not alone. How are others dealing with this? Any good workarounds? Ditching PubMed and PubMed Central completely and relying on Medline via HDAS/Ovid/Ebsco etc? Telling users to access PubMed/PubMed Central they'll just have to grin and bear it and do it by other means? We'd appreciate any comments.
TIA,
Helga
