Dear Saikiran Datta,
We are an Architecture and Landscape Architecture research group that belongs to the Research Centre of Faculty of Architecture in University of Lisbon (CIAUD). We have participated in various research projects concerning Sustainable Development, Local Identity, Land-use Planning, Landscape Units, Land Suitability, Integrated Conservation and Sea Heritage all over the country, mainly in Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Maritime Coastal Area of Arrábida and Algarve, and Pre-historic Rock Art Site in the Côa Valley. Today, Portugal as in many countries of Europe, deal with a major dilemma: how to manage the Heritage Classification’s areas according to a sustainable landscape use model, such as the villages. For example, in the “Villages within Heritage Landscape” or “Sea Architectures” research projects was developed a model of integrated management of Portuguese settlements through Surveys, Diagnostic Analysis and Synthesis of the study areas. Now, our research team is developing a new landscape methodology that takes into account the ecological and cultural heritage of potential land use for Portugal.
We are interested to collaborate in your proposal project for Heritage Plus, as an experienced transdisciplinary team which could contribute for your investigation.
Best regards,
Isabel Maria Agusto de Sousa Rosa - Architect, PhD
