Compelling subject matter, but still not sure on the extent of Francis Maude's commitment to data sharing.
At one point recently, having been found to have claimed expenses to the tune of £20,000 on his second home, and in defiance of a promise from David Cameron, he appeared to me to be the kind of public servant who may be somewhat reluctant towards embracing a new ethos of openness, transparency and 'data sharing',

I may be able to shed a little more light on where it may go. I was at the meeeting the other week with Involve. Francis Maude came along and these are the possible expected future developments as I understood it:
Law Commission will report this month - pretty much looking to recommend a review of the law relating to data sharing.
Proposals will be developed under the new open policy making process (via Involve) until mid-August. (With cross-party support) Policy document produced for mid-September for MPs to consider upon returning from recess.
Legal Counsel to produce key draft clauses and a White Paper for the Christmas break.
Open public consultation Jan - March 2015. (March - May 2015: Political Purdah due to elections.) New Government to consider in first session of Parliament after national elections 2015.
