The Black Dance Archives project needs a volunteer to work one day a week, ideally either on a Monday, Thursday or Friday to be based at the National Resource Centre for Dance at the University of Surrey in Guildford. There will also be the need for the volunteer to visit depositors and help with boxing up records to transfer to Guildford and later the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton. The depositors are all based in and around London.
Expenses will be paid up to £10 (tbc).
The work will consist of sorting dance archive material, putting material into folders, removing staples etc. as well as the opportunity to do some simple cataloguing and assist in the digitisation of collections.
