Early bird registration deadline for the Young Statisticians' Meeting has been extended until 30 April

Thursday 3rd – Friday 4th July 2014
Bristol, UK
www.ysm2014.co.uk

YSM is an annual event specifically designed for career young statisticians, organised by career young statisticians. If you are in the early years of your statistical career (first 10 years) or currently studying for a PhD, MSc or BSc in statistics then YSM offers an excellent opportunity to present your own research in a friendly environment, discover a variety of other statistical topics currently being researched and network amongst your peers. All delegates are encouraged to submit an abstract for a talk and/or poster but this is not compulsory.

The conference will consist of parallel sessions with talks from delegates, plenary sessions with talks from invited speakers, a poster session, a sponsors’ wine reception, and dinner and entertainment on the evening of the first day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days. There will also be informal activities on the evening before the first day for those arriving in advance.

Invited speakers
Professor Denise Lievesley, Head of Social Science and Public Policy at King's College London and former RSS president; Professor Dave Collett, Associate Director of Statistics and Clinical Studies at NHS Blood and Transplant; Professor Paul Burton of The Avon Longitudinal Study for Parents and Children (ALSPAC); Dr Wayne Jones of Shell UK/the RSS Computing Section.

Registration fee on or after 1 May: £115 per person
Accommodation (optional): £58 per room per night

Conference venue
Victoria Rooms, University of Bristol.
