Centre for Computational Inference in Evolutionary Life Sciences (CELS,
http://www.mn.uio.no/math/english/research/groups/cels/index.html) is a
new multidisciplinary centre within the Department of Mathematics,
University of Oslo
comprising strong research environments in biology and statistical and
computational methods for data analysis.
4 PhD positions are available at the University of Oslo, Faculty of
Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
All positions are within analysis of genomics data and will contain
methodological challenges related to big data issues but focused on
different biological problems.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics,
informatics or evolutionary genomics.
A strong background in statistics or quantitative methods is required.
