Teaching & Research Fellow – Epidemiology/Statistics (Ref: 112678)
Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a
The newly established University Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and it provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.
We are looking for a full time Teaching & Research Fellow to assist with the development and teaching of the Epidemiology and Statistics modules of the MSc course. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own area of research within the Populations Studies Group.
The Teaching element of the role (60% of your time), will include organising and running ‘consolidation’ sessions, setting, marking and providing feedback on assessments and tutoring and supporting students, especially those experiencing particular difficulties with the module. The Research aspect of your role (40% of your time) will involve providing statistical support to existing studies as well as developing your own research within the Population Studies Group.
In order to be considered for the Teaching & Research Fellow you will have post-graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Statistics or Epidemiology, experience teaching at graduate level and working as a Statistician/Epidemiologist. You will be proficient with statistical software, particularly Stata, and have experience managing large datasets. You will also need exceptional oral communication skills, and a publication record commensurate with stage of career.
