Dear Silvia,
I'm very interested in participating in your project. I'm professor in Medieval Islam and I participated in 2008-09 in a project financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Syrian Department of Antiquities for the restoration and the reuse of the Citadel of Damascus. Do you already have documents of the objects?
All the best

Oggetto: Syrian Cultural Heritage - call for partners
Dear All,
My name is Silvia Perini and I have recently finished a PhD in Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh.
I am currently working on the creation of a collaborative and open electronic database of the archaeological movable heritage conserved at the National Museum of Aleppo (Syria). This project aims to offer significant research potential in accessing artefacts in order to study them in ways that will generate new knowledge, inform and enrich our understanding of the past. In addition, this project will be essential in ensuring the protection of the museum archaeological collection, preventing smuggling and illegal trade.
I am looking for some collaborations with international partners interested in similar projects which address the protection of the Syrian cultural heritage.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information.
Best regards,
Silvia
