The application deadline is fast approaching for the Canadian Light Source (CLS) Mx Data Collection School taking place June 9 - 13, 2014. The Canadian Macromolecular Crystallography Facility (CMCF) is pleased to be accepting applications for this intensive 5-day hands-on synchrotron data collection school at the CLS in Saskatoon. Participants will attend a series of lectures and be actively engaged in macromolecular crystallography (Mx) data collection at CMCF beamlines. Completing the school will enable participants to make effective use of the beamlines remotely and will better equip participants to collect diffraction data on-site. This year's invited speaker is Dr. Trevor Moraes from the University of Toronto. He will offer participants a unique opportunity to explore the molecular replacement method, effective use of COOT, as well as offer insights into structure validation. Participants should have a basic grounding in crystallography prior to attending the course. Given enough interest, an optional crystallography review will be offered on Sunday, June 8. Application deadline is Friday, April 11, 2014. Please visit the CMCF website for more information and application form: http://cmcf.lightsource.ca/school
