Hi all

Apologies to those of you who have experienced issues creating new learning objects on the TechDis Xerte sandpit.
Many thanks to Ron Mitchell who has tracked down the problem (it was nothing to do with Xerte itself but due to the server running out of space - a kind of positive problem to have; at least people are using it!).

We've cleared some space to take the immediate pressure off but we'll soon be implementing a shelf-life policy which will mean resources on the sandpit will be wiped after a "fair use" period. We'll let you know more details shortly but I wanted to assure you that:
1) it wasn't a Xerte problem
2) the sandpit should be working fine now
3) your existing Los are safe until we notify you of the wiping protocol

.....but the main purpose of the sandpit is to give you the opportunity to put together evidence and argument for a full install in your own organisation (or through a hosted service).
So don't get too comfortable because the REAL benefits (sharing, collaboration, branding) accrue with your own installation.

Have a great weekend - and remember that daylight is longer than darkness tomorrow - and all the way through to June; happy Equinox :-)

Alistair

Hi
when you login to the sandpit and see your xerte workspace you'll see I've cleared your test LO's and added two new tests which both work. If you get this issue again try refreshing the browser window and if when creating a new project you get any empty projects like in the screenshot you provided delete it, refresh and try again.
Let us know if that works?
Regards
Ron

Subject: [Xerte] First time use of Xerte

Dear Team

I have created an account, gone into Xerte through online toolkits and the sandpit, clicked on create in both the xerte online toolkit template and the website/bootstrap template. I then click on either of the newly named documents, click edit and the popup that appears as the Xerte online editor window does not work. There are no fields in the editor window and the add button is greyed out (see screen shot). I have followed the instructions as in the video and can't work out why. I have allowed pop ups, opened this in different browsers, opened it on another lap top and still can't get it to work. Currently I am using windows 8.1 but the other laptop was windows 7.
Please can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks
Susan
