Speaking as a Welshman and a passionate advocate of the PRSA who has used it within the Isle of Man Government before returning to Scotland to apply it in my current role, one has to hope so- one has to hope so!
That which it brings, both in terms of adding a second wave of public sector RM started by the various FOI Acts and also in terms of providing a simple framework of required standards that management can understand across a number of defined elements, make it a very important and potent Act indeed.
So yes, I hope England, Wales and NI go down the same route but mean time, I heartily recommend that people adopt the 14 element approach anyway. Not only is it legitimised by legislation in a kindred jurisdiction but it also has a current and vibrant web-community presence.
This is of benefit not only to the practitioner in terms of peer-support but it is also rather handy for when the curious manager does their 10 minute google search to quietly check what they are being told.

Subject: The Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 (PRSA), will it come to England and Wales?
Dear All,
Does anyone know if England and Wales plan to undertake the equivalent of the Shaw report and whether there is any intent to create similar Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 (PRSA), legislation in Wales and England?
I am aware that Northern Ireland started on this path. http://www.northernireland.gov.uk/inquiry-into-historical-institutional-abuse I am not sure if they will end up with the same records management recommendations, but that have laid the foundation for it.
If anyone is aware of the legislative frameworks being considered, I would be grateful to know.
Thanks
Lawrence
