Dear all
Our next event (beyond the Away Day weekend) is on Tuesday 26th August (the day before the RGS/IBG Conference starts) - Participatory Approaches and Methods Training. It will offer both theoretical and practical advice on participatory methods. Anyone with an interest in participatory and activist research is welcome to attend.
It would be great if you were able to help us advertise this. There is a poster and information available: http://www.pygyrg.co.uk/events/participatory-approaches-and-methods-training-event-london.
If you were able to download, print and display the poster that would really help us get the word out. Or perhaps if you could tweet the website link?
Deadline for booking is 2nd June.
Activities on the day include:
. Keynote talks from Caleb Johnston, University of Edinburgh, and others tbc.
. Workshops on specific methods (e.g. visual approaches, militant ethnography).
. Bring non-academic approaches in dialogue with academics, in particular from those involved in facilitation, collective work, and social change.
. Providing help for PhD students dealing with challenges at different stages in their research.
. Exploring the opportunities and challenges of working with participatory methods across disciplines.
. Engaging in forms of participatory activities on the day.
. Providing an open space to discuss common dilemmas and find ways of supporting each other.
