Hi Jo
I had experience of a similar scenario in a very busy warehouse, which did not meet action levels for audiometry under the noise regs. However, a risk assessment did identify that good hearing was necessary from a safety perspective, eg, warning sounds, and the acoustics of the warehouse were not very good. An audiogram was a more objective measurement and it was done every 3 years with the FLT medical. So it probably goes back to the evidence/rationale for doing it in the first place.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Forl Lift / Powered Industrial Vehicle Medicals
Dear List
Does anyone have experience of working with US companies in the UK requiring Powered industrial vehicle medicals, I have been asked to provide these medicals which include a hearing test annually, when the area is not above the action limit for noise.
I would be very grateful if someone could email me a sample FLT medical questionnaire to prove to my clients that other employers only provide FLT medicals in the UK
Many thanks as ever
Jo Robbins
