I guess it comes down to what developers are willing to do. If it were my
app, I wouldn't be paying much attention to a part of a supposedly
standard API that wasn't standardized. I'd stick to the parts that were.
I'm trying to understand why I would ever expect to see applications begin
to move of their own accord toward a consistent approach to this problem
if there's no standard for doing it.
