Dear Colleague,
We are happy to announce the 22nd International Symposium on the Jahn Teller Effect which will be held in Graz, Austria, from August 18 to 22, 2014.
The biannual conference series addresses topics involving the coupling between electronic and nuclear vibrational motion in molecules and solids, such as
• Basic Jahn-Teller theory
• Jahn-Teller and pseudo Jahn-Teller coupling in molecules and clusters
• Conical intersections, dynamics on intersecting potential energy surfaces
• Fullerenes and Fullerides
• Graphene, silicene, and related systems
• Ferroelectric and multiferroic compounds
• The role of vibronic coupling in superconductors
• Applications such as spintronics, nanomagnetism, topological insulators and their relation to Jahn-Teller and pseudo Jahn-Teller effects
Graz is a beautiful old city in the southeast of Austria with two universities and a population of about 280,000. Direct flight connections are offered from Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Vienna through which many international destinations can be reached. The conference will take place at Graz University of Technology, Physics Building.
The conference website can be found under
