A well-established scientific information provider is seeking a Metadata expert for a 2 year project. Using a London-based special collection as your source material, you will generate metadata to be used as the basis of bibliographic records for an international scientific literature database. The primary sources are likely to be older materials published prior to 1935, including maps. Candidates with a scientific background would be preferred, and proven experience in metadata, taxonomies and cataloguing to international standards is essential. The expected timeframe for the project is 2 years, depending on the total amount of relevant material located within the collection and pre-agreed working patterns. There is some scope for part-time working within this role. Salary in the region of £30,000 per annum.
