Subject: Proposal to subsidise ALLCU Conference 2014 at Writtle
Dear member
Cathy Kirby and I met last week to discuss planning for the one-day ALLCU Conference 2014 at Writtle College. We are concerned that numbers wishing to attend are quite low therefore as ALLCU is in a good financial position we wanted to put forward a proposal that ALLCU would make this a free event for members. We need as many members as possible to attend the AGM as the organisation needs to look to it's future and this is seen as one way in which we could increase the number of delegates and also to reduce the demands on staff development budgets for our member insititutions. As ALLCU is a member organisation we would like you to respond as to whether you suport or oppose this proposal. We would like you to respond with your support or opposition whether or not you intend to attend the conference.
This offer will only extend to course fees. However, if an individual is refused financial assistance for transport and / or accommodation by their institution and would like to attend then they would need to email [log in to unmask] to apply for separate funding.
Proposal: The course fees for attendance at the 2014 ALLCU Conference to be held at Writtle College in June are to be subsidised by ALLCU.
I support the proposal (delete as appropriate)
Forward email to [log in to unmask] by 12 noon on Friday 14th March (do not respond by replying as it will circulate to all lis-link members of ALLCU)
