Dear all,
We are planning to migrate to the new EMI-3 APEL during this month.
We are reading carefully the published documentation that we have found:
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/EMI/EMI3APELClient/APEL_Parsers_System_Administrator_Guide.pdf
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/EMI/EMI3APELClient
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/EMI/APELFAQ
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/EMI/EMI3APELClient/APEL_Client_Upgrade_Plan.pdf
Thus, in our case, we are planning to update the parsers in our EMI-2
machines (cream-CEs and Torque server). To avoid problems and to allow
us to roll-back, we will install a new APEL client. Although the
migration procedure seems to be clearly explained, I have some doubts.
My first question is if it is still required to open a GGUS ticket to
start the migration and be guided by the APEL team.
Moreover, our actual APEL client works for two sites, as we are Tier-1
and Tier-2 sites managed by the same Torque server. I think that we can
create two /etc/apel/parser.cfg configuration files in the pbs, parse
them to the APEL client in different moments, such as we do right now.
Is this allowed with the new EMI-3 APEL?
Thanks in advance. I am sure that we will have more doubts as we go forward.
Regards,
Carles
