Carissima ,

Oggetto: conservation of modern residential estates
Hello,
I am looking for partners to share a research on sustainable conservation and restoration of modern residential estates intended as a cultural heritage.
My research expertise (phD) is referred to the conservation of modern architecture (i.e architecture built in the twentieth century) and I wish to set up a research team for a transnational investigation upon case studies in this field.
My idea is that the research should analyse the matter under various points of view and mainly:
- recognition of architectural and aesthetic values;
- urban role of historic modern residential estates within contemporary european cities;
- social importance of public spaces within historic residential districts of the twentieth century;
- problems of energy efficiency within residential buildings and their interface with conservation issues;
- ...
I am based at ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome which provides a wide range of researchers in this field, laboratories and a long lasting tradition in the conservation and restoration of architectural heritage. More specifically, I work for the ‘Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Architettonici e del Paesaggio’ which is a high degree institution which provides a two years master course (post lauream) and support to scientific research in the field of architectural conservation.
