Dear colleagues

Greetings from Portugal!

I am a researcher in cultural heritage, with Masters degree in Museum
and Cultural Heritage from University of Coimbra, Portugal. Subject of
my masters thesis was: Preserve and Sensibilize: Heritage in Three
villages of Óbidos (Portugal, 2008).

I have elaborated historical and anthropological interpretative
studies based on archival data and first hand information gathered
during the extensive field works in Portugal (2005-2011).

My main research subject has been rural heritage of Portugal. My
studies have interdisciplinary methodology and the inventories and
classification of rural heritage can be applied to other case studies.

Areas where I have worked are:

1) Inventories and Studies related to Cultural Heritage;

2) Socio-economic and cultural history of rural communities 19th and
20th century.

3) Ethnographic studies based on field work; Issues related with
identity, religious rituals and local traditions.

The projects done are:

Rural Heritage of Óbidos - Project PAO - Inventory of three villages (2008).

Project Water (2009).

Project Rural Heritage of Bairro - Historical study and inventory of a
village called Bairro in Óbidos, Portugal (2009).

Project Rural Farmlands - Inventory of 130 farmlands with historical
perspective on these "casals" (2011).

I am looking for research collaboration from those who have experience
in WATER RELATED RESEARCH.

I am also open to other proposals where my collaboration may be
required for the above mentioned areas of research.

One of my research members could be linked to 3D imagery for monuments
and landscape in order to document the heritage buildings.

Looking for other members with the following:

a) Experience of conducting research on WATER.

b) Research on water in its various manifestations -- natural and man-made.

c) Knowledge of preservation of medieval structures.

Please give your suggestions and collaborate. I highly appreciate the effort.

Thank You

Saikiran Datta
