Hello,
I have just seen your post on the Heritageplus site and would very much like to make contact with you about my project. I am a practice-based researcher in photography and moving image from the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK. I have been researching, photographing and filming a post industrial area in Asturias that has many semi-ruined villages as a result of the shift in demographics due to changing local economies and culture shift from rural to urban in the latter part of the twentieth century. I am keen to preserve the cultural heritage of the area with a project that also encourages participation with local people in the area. I am particularly interested in collaborating with academics in Spanish universities in such areas as history, cultural tourism, social geography, cultural heritage management and museology. I am interested in the heritage plus fund, but also any other sources of funding that I could match with funding from my university.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Liz Banks

Subject: Presentation: The Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage Research
Dear all,
Id' like to introduce the Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage
Research as research centre. The Institute is interested in participating
as a partner in European projects based on Cultural Heritage, for
instance the Cultural Heritage Plus Programme. We are opened to
participate in european consortiums linked with our research lines.
The Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (ICRPC) is a
leading centre in the field of cultural heritage research in Spain and
clearly positions itself at the forefront of international scientific
discussions on innovative aspects such as social uses of heritage and
processes of patrimonialisation. Since its foundation in 2006, the ICRPC
has worked to become a constant presence in the main international
forums for academic debate, in journals and conferences.
As a result, it has become established as one of the most active
producers of knowledge in the field of cultural heritage in southern
Europe. ICRPC research has a clear multidisciplinary focus, covering the
following disciplines in the areas of humanities and social sciences:
social and cultural anthropology, archaeology, cultural management,
history, history of art and museology. Research is carried out using the
methodologies of the aforementioned disciplines, such as the
ethnographic method, the archaeological method, an analysis of the
supply and demand of cultural property, an analysis of archives and
documentary sources, and theoretical reflection.
Since its foundation in 2006, research at the ICRPC has been organised
into four programmes that combine the various disciplines and
methodologies mentioned above, which are used in different lines of
research. The ICRPC’s research programmes are:
1. Processes of patrimonialisation;2. Uses of cultural heritage;3.
Museology; 4. Cultural heritage management. 5. Heritage in danger, lost
heritage
Best wishes
