Dear Professor Barkauskas,
Our research group could be interested to participate to your project proposal. We have experience in testing microbial activities, since we are studying antimicrobial peptides as potential antibiotic for topic uses. These studies are founded by “Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation”. Hence we can perform all the commonly used antimicrobial activity tests. Moreover, some of us, recently moved from a long standing research in lignin biodegrading enzymes from fungi to interesting fungal self assembling proteins (hydrophobins) that we demonstrated are able to coat, solubilize and functionalize graphene and graphene derivatives. In this perspective, we think that our proteins and peptides could be useful to improve microbicidial activity of graphene and its binding to cellulose materials.
Therefore, we could be interested to join your research proposal. If you need other information, please, do not hesitate to contact me.
