With apologies for cross-posting, please see the message below from Women in German Studies:
Women in German Studies celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 and continues to attract new members. We have a blog: http://womeningermanstudies.wordpress.com/ , a twitter account: @WIGSblog, and a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/pages/Women-in-German-Studies-WIGS/ as well as our website, http://www.wigs.ac.uk/. An important aspect of our work is to award travel grants to facilitate the research activities of our postgraduate members, including members who have recently completed a higher degree but have yet to find a permanent post, and other members who have part- time employment (full details can be found on the website).
WIGS has now joined the University Council of Modern Languages, to strengthen the voice of Germanists in the higher education debate and we have just initiated a PG essay prize (details to be found on the blog).
Membership is open to any woman who is currently teaching, studying, or working in any area of German Studies, or who has done so in the past. If you or your postgrads would like to join us, please contact the current treasurer: [log in to unmask]
Best wishes, Caroline Bland
(WIGS Treasurer).
