Dear all,
I am looking for the source of the famous Sigmund Freud caricature "What
is on an man's mind" which depicts his face composed of nude women. See
for example here:
http://imagecache6.allposters.com/LRG/%5C7%5C725%5C4TSA000Z.jpg
Although the image is quite often reprinted in contemporary popular
culture I wasn's able to locate a reliable source for its origin so far,
neither through Freud specialists nor though the internet.
Does anybody have a clue where this caricature was first published and
by whom? Is it contemporary to Freud or a later invention?
Many thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Simon Bunke
