To: Geophysicists with a little spare time, if there are any...
GeoEditing is a small business based in the U.K., offering English language
editing services. We specialise in Earth Sciences but cover a wide range of
subjects in the physical sciences. We are currently looking for a few freelance
editors who are able to take on a small amount of editing work, typically
editing the language in journal articles. These articles are written by
researchers with English as a second language. We only edit the language and do
not alter the scientific content. The English language in edited articles must
meet the very high standards expected by leading international journals, so
there are some minimum requirements as follows:
1) English as your first language
2) A Ph.D. in a geophysics discipline (or similar)
3) At least two first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
4) Experience of peer reviewing.
When a suitable paper is received we will email you the details (title,
deadline, word count, pay) to ask if you can take it on. Edits are usually made
using track changes in Microsoft Word so that authors can clearly see what
changes have been made. Payments for editing work will be made by bank transfer
to a U.K. bank account. Freelance editors are self employed and are responsible
for paying their own national insurance and income tax.
If you are interested and meet all of the minimum requirements, please email
your C.V. and a brief description of your area of research/expertise to

Many thanks
