DGS provides an interdisciplinary platform prioritising material that is critical, challenging, and engaging from a range of epistemological perspectives and disciplines. The joural aims to create opportunities to develop greater dialogue, collaboration and knowledge sharing between the Global South and North and to develop theory and critical research grounded in local deliberations. DGS publishes articles in both English and Spanish and prioritises underrepresented regions, notably Latin America. It also seeks to maintain an interactive dialogue with advocates and activists providing an additional section dedicated to this.
