The dramatic events unfolding in Ukraine have captured mass attention across Europe and sparked heated debates often based on deep-seated political divisions and uncontrolled streams of information. This seminar represents an attempt at providing a solid analytical background to contextualise such events, offering the audience a multiplicity of perspectives to explain this crisis. The speakers consist in a group of social scientists from Middlesex Business School (plus a guest speaker) with strong research and personal roots in post-soviet and post-socialist countries.
Presentations:
Post-soviet nationalisms: origins, threats and alternatives (Dr Claudio Morrison, Middlesex Business School)
Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the IMF to the Peoples' Plenums' (Professor Martin Upchurch, Middlesex Business School)
Pro-Eastern views on line: Images and Discourses (Olga Cretu, Middlesex Business School)
