The Centre for Cultural Studies Research at the University of East London is delighted to announce that the award winning journalist, Glenn Greenwald will be giving our annual lecture for 2014.
Greenwald came to the attention of the world in June 2013 as the journalist responsible for the publication of documents leaked by the ex-NSA contractor Edward Snowden. He has since been awarded the prestigious George Polk Award for National Security Reporting. He will appear by live link from Brazil and will give a short lecture followed by an extended question and answer session. The session will be chaired by CCSR co-director Debra Benita Shaw and Jonathan Hardy, Reader in Media Studies in the School of Arts & Digital Industries.
