PhD student Biostatistics in LUMC
We are seeking a PhD candidate interested in solving challenging and relevant statistical problems within an EU-funded (FP7) project MIMOmics (www.mimomics.eu<http://www.mimomics.eu>) in collaboration with Wageningen University (WUR). The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of academic statisticians working in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
The position:
As a PhD student you will work within the Department of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics of LUMC in collaboration with the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Methods of Wageningen University (WUR). Your work will focus on the development of statistical methodology to integrate heterogeneous omics datasets to predict biomarkers. There is a strong demand for powerful and transparent statistical methods for combining and analysing heterogeneous datasets and, within LUMC and WUR, various technological platforms are being developed to enable high-throughput data acquisition for omics techniques such as metabolomics, glycomics, and proteomics. In addition to research, you will be involved in teaching biostatistics and statistical genetics to students and researchers.
Your profile:
You hold a master (or bachelor) degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a similar discipline.
