An HGV driver returning after rotator cuff surgery 11 + weeks ago wants to have an easy driver knob fixed onto the steering wheel ( enables one to drive single handedly). The manager says no ; they damage the steering wheel and the driver of the dame HGV but on the other shift says no to it. I have never recommended these before and a quick trawl through trusted sites ( royal college of surgeons and royal berkshire nhs trust (excellent info on their site btw)) have made no reference at all to driving roles other than return to driving at 8 weeks post op onwards. I am looking for info/evidence to support the employee and the manger...does anyone have any information.
Many Thanks
