Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Dates: June 13-15, 2014
Asylum Access and the University of York have now opened the application process to attend our Refugee Rights Leadership Training from 13th - 15th June in Geneva, prior to UNHCR's Annual Consultations with NGOs.
The Refugee Rights Leadership Training is an opportunity for refugee response practitioners to further the refugee rights movement by critically reflecting on the most recent developments in our field and exploring advocacy strategies. The training will include two days of interactive learning run by practitioners and academics focusing on rights-based programming; new developments in refugee legal aid, and effective planning for advocacy campaigns. The third day will consist of a workshop dedicated to deep consideration of the Nairobi Code, its continued relevance, compliance challenges, and other important ethical questions.

Attendance at the Nairobi Code workshop on Day 3 is optional for participants, and this workshop can also be attended on a stand-alone basis at no cost.
The Leadership Training has a cost of US$270 per participant, which includes all materials, refreshments and lunch. This applies whether or not participants attend the Nairobi Code workshop. There are a limited number of full scholarships available.
The Training will take place in English only: interpretation will not be available.
