Its not really about when resourtces are uploaded, more about when they are made available to students. As most VLE's can 'hide" resources and they can be released as and when.
I do know a tutor at a 6th Form College in Manchester who has all her materials in the VLE and all materials for the year are available for the students all the time. Students are allowed to jump ahead if they want to. I can put her in touch if you like.

Hi All
I'm asking this on behalf of one of our teachers. She has asked the question below:
I'm researching and writing an essay on leading learning, the VLE and the impact on adult learners and I wonder if you know of any literature or journal article/current research that focuses specifically on the impact of the timing of when staff upload resources - ie just before session, after the session or a week or so either way...
I'm not aware of any specific research papers that look at this. Does anyone else know of anything they could share? I'm also attempting to crowdsource this on twitter so please feel free to respond via twitter if you prefer.
