Katie Gramich is Professor of English Literature at Cardiff University. She is the author of Twentieth-Century Women's Writing in Wales: Land, Gender and Belonging (UWP, 2007), and Kate Roberts (Writers of Wales series, UWP, 2011), and the editor of Mapping the Territory: Critical Approaches to Welsh Fiction in English (Parthian, 2010), as well as numerous articles on Welsh women's writing in English.
The Ursula Masson Memorial Lecture is held each year on or close to March 8, International Women’s Day, in memory of Dr Ursula Masson (1945-2008), the much loved and highly esteemed Lecturer in History at the University of Glamorgan. Ursula was instrumental in founding Archif Menywod Cymru/Welsh Women’s Archive and its Roadshows. 'In Our Own Image? - A Century of Imaging of and in South Wales: 1910-2013'
Identity is celebrated and considered via the imaging of society, place, memory and imagination. This collaborative exhibition marks the centenary of the University of Glamorgan and its rebirth as the University of South Wales following the merger with the University of Wales Newport. It is to be accompanied by a new publication which adds to the history of the visual culture of modern and contemporary Wales.
