I had several questions concerning the serial longitudinal toolbox
provided in SPM12
Basically , I have stroke patients who undergo 5 fMRI sessions within a
year.
1) If I quote J. Ashburner in a recent email exchange "The longitudinal
registration was originally intended for the commonest situation of just
having two time points, but I tried to generalise it for additional
points. As the discussion in the paper says, the way it has been done is
not ideal for longitudinal registration with multiple time points.²
To my understanding, not ideal doenst mean unusable because no real
perfect solution exist for this problem.
I was wondering if I wouldn¹t get too much trouble from reviewers if I use
this toolbox
2) Longitudinal toolbox provides an ³average² 3D. Is it enough to
co-register this 3D independently to each functional session in order to
normalize the functional data, or is it better to co-register functional
sessions on each other before? (between-session realignment ?
Thanks,
