HEA-AHRC symposia on interculturalism and translating cultures

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) and Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) are pleased to invite all HEA subscribing institutions in the UK to be part of the 2014 symposia on interculturalism and translating cultures.
This series of symposia – taking place between 14 April and 18 July 2014 - aims to:
• enable institutions to disseminate models of practice for the integration of teaching and research;
• develop innovative new approaches to research-led teaching;
• promote the sharing of policy, practice and evidence through facilitating the dissemination of experience within and across institutions;
• build on expertise and interest within the sector by promoting knowledge exchange and developing academic communities of practice;
• provide opportunities for participants to review and reflect on their own practice;
• encourage collaboration between higher education institutions (HEIs) as well as between HEIs and external partners.

Up to £2500 is available per event and applicants are invited to submit a proposal aligned to one of the following thematic areas:
• training skills for postgraduate taught / postgraduate research students;
• engaging with ethnic and linguistic minorities;
• languages, intercultural communication and commerce;
• languages and the internet.
The deadline for symposia submissions is 09:00 Monday 17 February 2014.
