In 2014, CERN turns 60. Set up as a European 'laboratory for peace' following a punishing war, it is now used by more than 10,000 scientists worldwide and is one of the most famous examples of Big Science.
Join historians Lisa Jardine and Jon Agar for a lively conversation about science and society from World War 2.
Doors open at 18.00
Guests will be seated at 18.45. Talk begins at 19.00.
The Collider gallery will be open from 20.00-21.00 with optional curator-led tours of the exhibition
Tickets £5*and includes entrance to the gallery, talk and tour. Capacity is limited so advance booking is strongly recommended.
