Invitation for PhD Student Applications in ‘Applied Childhood Studies’
Research Centre for Children, Families and Communities (Canterbury Christ Church University, Canterbury, Kent, UK)
The Research Centre for Children, Families and Communities (RCfCFC) welcomes applicants for MPhil/PhD studies (to begin study in for October 2014).
Established in 2009, RCfCFC is specialist research centre based within Canterbury Christ Church University. RCfCFC draws together academics from education, health and social care and the social sciences in order to undertake high quality research which is underpinned by a commitment to the participation and voice of children and young people.
We are specifically looking for applications from candidates with an interest in:
• Impact of austerity measures on child poverty
• Social divisions and discrimination
• Family functioning and wellbeing
• Social exclusion and inclusion
• Politics of early childhood
Full-time PhD scholarships (a stipend of £11,700 pa and free tuition for three years) are available for successful applicants.
The application deadline is Wednesday 30th April 2014.
Registration for successful applicants will be 1st October 2014.
