Hi all,
The theme ‘Digital Analogy // Pioneers of New Media’, is misleading in
various ways.
On one hand it's because the choice of ‘now’ disreputable ‘BritArt’
artists, and on the other, it's because there is an embarrassing lack of
women included in the exhibition. it is not representative of the
amazing women in arts and technology who deserve so much better than this.
Sarah was supportive, which is fine. I can understand (I think) why.
However, this should be seen and openly acknowledged as just plain
backward. Isn’t this what many on this list are supposed to be
challenging? It is patriarchal and elitist, and even worse, not true…
So, as a reminder because I appreciate how difficult it must be to
'leave that door open for others' when one is so busy climbing that ever
so highly sough after career path, I have taken the trouble to paste a
few names below...
And yes, they are pioneering!-)
