Dear colleagues,
I hope this finds you well.
I am getting in touch as we have announced some more of the FutureEverything conference programme for 2014, taking place at Manchester Town Hall on 31 Mar - 1 Apr, and we think it would be of value and interest to you and your networks. If you could share among interested colleagues and contacts, it would be much appreciated.
Under the theme ‘Tools for Unknown Futures’, the FutureEverything conference will bring together artists, makers, designers, theorists and policy makers collaborating on new protocols, languages, systems, strategies and even infrastructures.
Earlybird tickets are on sale now priced at £75 until 1 Mar, and available here: http://futureeverything.org/festival/tickets-2/
During the conference, some of the world’s leading practitioners and thinkers from the arenas of design, urbanism, art and academia will lead presentations, seminars and a range of participatory sessions for delegates from across the globe. The conversation will focus on hacking and making, future speculations, the role of government and business, and some of the brightest people and projects around today. Topics include design fiction, emotional computing, new materials such as graphene, principles of play in open-source development, as well as many more.
Confirmed speakers include Adam Harvey, Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, Golan Levin, Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino and Holly Gramazio, plus much more. There’s some more information here: http://futureeverything.org/festival/conference/
There is also a full version of the ‘Tools for Unknown Futures’ theme statement here: http://futureeverything.org/festival/tools-for-unknown-futures/
Further details on the wider festival programme, taking place on 27 Mar - 1 April across Manchester, can be found on our site http://futureeverything.org/ or please feel free contact me with any queries.
Kind regards,
Simon
