** Apologies for cross postings **
Dear Colleagues,
we would like to draw your attention to a new initiative in
the field of laboratory astrophysics; www.labastro.eu.
On invitation of the ASTRONET board a task group has started
to list the ongoing actions - within Europe - in this field,
covering the many different disciplines within physics and
chemistry active in experimental or theoretical support
of astronomical research.
The main goal of this action is to visualize this highly
multi-disciplinary research area, and to offer
a central platform for communication. For this also a new
[log in to unmask] account has been opened that will
address issues specifically linked to laboratory astrophysics.
[If you want to register for the LABASTRO mailing list, please
follow the instructions under 'email contact' on the site.]
With this mail we invite you to visit the new site. It is in
a start-up phase, i.e., the listed information will not be
complete or may be not fully correct. We have tried to list
most European groups active in laboratory astrophysics and
to order these along a number of different research topics.
When you are active in this field, please check whether you
are listed and listed correctly. Perhaps, you also do not want
to be listed, or at least not in the present way.
Please let us know - we are open for feedback; corrections,
extensions, and suggestions - and apologize in advance for
any inaccuracies. Our goal is to have the full site complete
within the next months and to keep it up-to-date.
Please send your mails concerning feedback on the site to
[log in to unmask] In the next weeks the site will
be regularly adapted.
Yours sincerely,
Jonathan Tennyson, UK
Louis d'Hendecourt, F
Juergen Blum, D
Thomas Giesen, D
Jordi Jose, Sp
Maxim Khodachenko, Au
Mats Larsson, Sw
Harold Linnartz, NL
