Culture24 built a new events API last year, I helped test and built a Wordpress plugin for it (see 1914.org). Plugin is the property of the IWM and I'm not sure if C24's API is for general consumption yet but anyone interested in them could contact the respective org for more info.
If anyone wants a Drupal 7 Adlib module (read-only, non-commercial, sandbox) I have one. About 2 years old and the Adlib API has probably changed a bit since then but the module could be updated. Feel free to get in touch. http://www.zenlan.com/adlibtools
