Hi all
We're so pleased to announce the new Culture Hack Data site and Toolkit are
now live and, as always, welcome your thoughts and feedback.
In just over three years, Culture Hack has grown from a 'one-off' hack day
to a digital prototyping programme for the arts sector, with hundreds of
people from creative, technology, cultural, arts and heritage organisations
participating.
Culture Hack Data<http://culturehackday.us2.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=e9e76bfc750a00646fa257b37&id=5b4260285d&e=c9a1bf7377>is
a new online repository signposting some of the most useful, hackable
open cultural data we've found. We wanted to make it easier to discover
data and providers; if you know of a good-quality data source that should
be added, there's more detail
here<http://culturehackday.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e9e76bfc750a00646fa257b37&id=8b6decd6fb&e=c9a1bf7377>
.
It's more than a list - as well as linking to each of the data sources,
we've tried to describe what each dataset is about, the size of each
dataset, how easy it is to use, the license it's released under, plus we've
linked to interesting hacks or prototypes made with the data.
We want to help developers access and use cultural data to make amazing
things, whilst getting non-technical users to understand more about the
possibilities of open data.
*And there's more! *We've created the Culture Hack
Toolkit<http://culturehackday.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e9e76bfc750a00646fa257b37&id=b49aecfa4f&e=c9a1bf7377>-
an useful guide to producing your own digital prototyping programme;
available to download for free. It includes examples of different models of
Culture Hack events, practical tips and external resources.
Culture Hack is a non-profit CIC (community interest company) run by Caper.
All money raised for Culture Hack goes back into the programme.
We need further funding to keep creating and inspiring innovative digital
