We are looking for enthusiastic mathematical volunteers to help us
break a Guinness World Record at the Cambridge Science Festival.
We also need two mathematicians to survey the result and certify the size.
We are building the world's largest Sierpinski Tetrahedron - out of
balloons. It will have 8 metre edges and be made out of 1024, 25cm
tetrahedra.
Guinness are calling it a Tetrix and they created a new world record
for it last year.
We are raising funds for AIMSSEC, an organisation founded by Toni
Beardon (co-founder of Nrich.maths.org at Cambridge) AIMSSEC empowers
African children to raise themselves out of poverty through
sustainable education (training teachers in mathematics)
We are starting at 5am on Saturday March 5th and adjudication will be at midday.
If you want to volunteer, please reply off list and I will send you
the registration link :0)
