As many of you will know, Jisc Collections has commissioned a Review of NESLi2, the first for ten years, to report to Jisc Collections by mid-April. The Review is being carried out by Albert Prior and Tony Kidd.
We are currently contacting a number of library staff, at both Director and E-Resource Librarian level, to interview them on their views on the future development of NESLi2. In the time available we are not able to carry out interviews with staff from every institution, and in order to get as wide input as possible, we are arranging two Focus Groups for library staff from institutions that we have not approached.
The Focus Groups will be held in
Manchester, at the offices of Mimas, Roscoe Building (5th Floor), University of Manchester, M13 9PL (travel/location details at http://mimas.ac.uk/contact/), on Tuesday 4 March, and in
London, at Jisc Collections offices, Brettenham House (North Entrance), Lancaster Place, WC2E 7EN (please report to Reception on arrival; travel/location details at https://www.jisc-collections.ac.uk/Contact-us/How-to-find-us/), on Friday 21 March.
The meetings will begin at 12.30 pm with sandwiches and coffee, and will finish by 3.30 pm. There will be a short introduction on the Review, then time to discuss various aspects of the Review, both in small groups and in plenary session. Albert Prior and Tony Kidd will facilitate both Groups.
In order to register, please email [log in to unmask] It may be necessary to limit numbers attending, to fit the space available. Jisc Collections will cover reasonable travel expenses.
For those unable to attend a Focus Group, or be interviewed individually, we shall conduct a brief survey in March, on lis-nesli-reps and jisc-collections-reps, but we hope that many of you will wish to attend one of the Focus Groups.
This is your chance to influence the future of NESLi2, and we look forward to seeing you in March.
Albert Prior
Tony Kidd
