Does anyone know whether file-sharing (between the Linux virtual machine and the Windows host) allows you to use more disk space than is specified for the VM itself? I put my data in a folder on my Windows file system, and then asked the virtual machine (FSLVm6_64) to share it. Having done so, when I create new files in the shared directory from inside the VM (identifying the shared folder using /mnt/hgfs in the pathname), does this use up space allotted for the FSLVm6_64? Or space outside the VM? The FSLVm6_64 was installed with 50 GB disk space, and I'm wondering whether it is possible to circumvent this limit by sharing folders with Windows host?
