PhD students at the Institute of Gerontology, King's College London have collaborated with the Emerging Researchers in Ageing of the British Society of Gerontology to create an event for PhD students and early-career researchers. The event is on 03/04/2014, 10.00-17.00
The event has multiple aims:
1. To create a network of PhD candidates and early-career researchers from different fields who are conducting research with ageing populations - the 'hidden gerontologists'
2. To enable delegates to perform short 'public engagement' style dissemination presentations intended for their target population. No PowerPoint and no jargon should be used. Presenters are encouraged to be creative.
3. To describe our experiences of setting up a peer-led writing group and inspire others to create such a group
4. To create a space for delegate to share their problems with writing and conducting research and enable peer-led trouble-shooting
