thank you helma! for endorsing the italian digital libraries of latin, digilibLt (www.digiliblt.unipmn.it) and MusisqueDeoque (www.mqdq.it), which both run for a DH2014 award in the non-English speaking resources (thank you for casting your vote for one or the other. i am involved with digilibLT but ...may the best win!).
about digital libraries of classical texts my feeling is that we should (thanks to loeb, perseus, mqdq, digilibLT, and others) start also in the digital world the usual "library approach", where you have many editions of every work; and you choose the one you like more, the one which better fits your intent. many editions at inter-library level (the same work is available in more than 1 library) but also at intra-library level (a digital library can add over the years new editions of a given work; the same which happens in a paper based library: when a new edition of Martialis enters the shelves, the previous ones are not thrown away).
so speaking of apps it would be very useful
1) if ancient works are available for download also in open ebook format, an app allowing to manage the collection and offering basic and advanced search
2) to have a unifying interface which, if you search for Vergil Aeneides, gives you the list of the edition(s) available in the pool of 'federated digital libraries' which comply to a basic level of editorial quality.
