It's great that people are helpful and sharing articles but I still don't understand why 7000+ emails need to get sent out when most (not all!) requests can be answered via four simple steps and 3-4 direct email messages:
1) Google author's name
2) Review his/her website to get a relevant email address
3) Email him/her
4) Receive PDF of article (while making direct contact with someone with similar research interests)
5) Thank them for their help
Building community, saving energy, and reducing the aggregate effort required to delete all those irrelevant emails sounds win-win-win to me.
