We are delighted to announce that we have secured the necessary
sponsorship deal that will allow us to start rolling out our proposed
free environmental monitoring scheme. The sponsor for this scheme is
Deepstore Ltd, the well known salt-mine storage company, for whose
support we are very grateful.
Thank you to those many institutions that have so far registered
interest. Any yet to do so, please let us know if you would like to
join the scheme by emailing us at [log in to unmask]
We will soon be launching our new website, with two new membership
categories, information about recent projects and about the free scheme,
so do please watch out for our further announcements launching the site
ncs.org.uk to replace the existing.
We are very conscious that this comes at a time of reductions in sector
support, such as the closure of the existing British Library advisory
service, BLPAC, and we hope to help you by continuing to develop new and
innovative approaches that support archivists and librarians directly in
your own sites. Our new model of service, including the unique
membership scheme, collaborative storage scheme (with Restore Plc) and
now the free environmental monitoring scheme, is designed to maintain
advice and support in the sector at low or no cost but ensuring very
high quality. Do please consider joining us!
